Missions PolicyMissions is defined as the proclamation of God’s worth and saving plan as contained in the gospel of Christ to all the world. Missions includes proclaiming this good news to both our own communities and to all the peoples of the earth.
- To proclaim God’s worth to all people (1 Chron. 16:23-31; Psa. 96; Acts 17:22-28; 1 Pet. 2:9).
- To fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-49;John 20:21; Acts 1:8; 26:16-18).
- To manifest Christ’s compassion for the world (John 3:16; Matt. 9:36-38; 18:10-14).
- To minister to the totality of human need (Matt. 10:42; 25:31-46; Luke 16: 19-31; James 2:14-17).
- To reach all people with the knowledge of God (Rom. 10:32-33; 25:41-46; 1 John 4:2-3).
- To obey Christ by confessing him to the world (Matt. 10:32-33; 25:41-46; 1 John 4:2-3).
Therefore, in practicing these biblical values and principles, we believe that our church’s worldwide mission:
- Is for God’s glory.
- Takes the whole Bible seriously.
- Is from the church and to the church.
- Evangelizes the lost and reaches the unreached.
- Includes God’s kingdom service for people in need.
- Tells the good news of Jesus Christ as absolute truth.
- Calls us to sacrifice our time, energy, and money.
- Commits us to trusting the Holy Spirit for guidance and power.
- Fills us with faith, hope, love, and creativity.
- Takes all cultures seriously.
- Calls us to faithful, fervent prayer.
- Builds international partnerships.
